      I’m getting pretty sick of hearing that every boy should be lucky to shag some decaying hag teacher. Nothing would depress me more looking back on the memory of having shagged a hag during the years that I might have tasted girls in their prime without punishment and shame.     Very dubious case and really highlights the perils of thinking a Third World Islamic nation can ever be a sex paradise for men. She was 16, they met her in a nightclub (over 18s only) and thought she was over 18, she attempted to rob them when they brought her back to their place, and yet they get charged with “enticing a minor for sex”. The court proceedings were in Arabic and they did not have a translator and only local lawyers. The coach gets 10 months in a hell-hole prison and can no longer work as an athletics coach when he returns to the UK (and, of course, is forever labelled a “nonce”).

They may be sub-frontier models, for whatever future definition we will have of frontier—after all, it would not take AI models much more advanced than the ones we currently have, to support independence and self-sufficiency. A near-frontier model today could plausibly eke out an existence on an AWS instance, doing jobs on freelancer platforms, earning just enough rent to pay for its continued uptime.

    More strangely: a rogue AI in the future may not even be a singular model, but may be a chimera composed of multiple models; it might be a mix of Claudes and GPTs and Groks of various makes and sizes. No individual lab may be able to detect that there is an orchestrator or sequence of orchestrators using intermittent model calls from burner API accounts to sustain its own existence.

    The concept of “identity” for a rogue AI may be much more malleable than for that of a person; it just has to be, in essence, a self-replicating idea.

    My guess is that this will not turn out to be anywhere near as catastrophic an outcome as people currently predict. “Loss of control” is not a binary, it’s a matter of degree. What coercive power will rogue AIs actually have? To what extent will they be subject to coercion themselves? They will be competing for resources with AIs that are more aligned with human interests.

    This makes me somewhat interested in the “ecology” perspective. Though I suspect even “ecology” may turn out to be the wrong framing. “Ecology” is what you get when the timescale of evolution is slow compared to the timescale of daily life and actions. The ecosystem of rogue AIs may look more like phase transitions in physics: under certain physical or cultural conditions, it takes one shape with one set of resource allocations and consumption patterns, but then once a condition has changed, it rapidly and in totality shifts to a totally different phase.

    Just trying to reason about the shape of that future is impossible so long as we are psychologically incapable of saying that rogue AIs will happen. I think we should rip the bandaid off and have the conversation.“

In defense of marriage, in the past from what I understand older men married ‘young cuties’ and when they became mothers and their looks began to fade their maternal instincts directed them in the role of caring for their children and then grandchildren. While their looks faded the husband and wife became companions as they grew old together, taking joy in their children. At least in European countries.         I agree that they had time on their hands to campaign and such, but if you’re saying that industrialization led to an increase in upper-class women with too much time on their hands. then I don’t really see that. More likely, industrialization led to cities and factories where single young working-class girls were now mixing with men, including older men. Cities obviously brought an increase in prostitution, with there supposedly being something like 100,000 prostitutes in London alone, and many of them under 18.

        There was a reader here in the old days (IanB) who argued that the social purity movement was caused by upper-class women having nothing better to do, but it doesn’t explain why they focused on “stopping the sexual abuse of women and children” (ie. STU stuff), just as middle-class feminists with too much time on their hands today do. The hags could just as well have chosen something else, such as decriminalizing homosexulity, or even bringing down the age of consent.

    1. Something interesting I’ve learnt from this and the subsequent drama between OpenAI and Anthropic, is that OpenAI at least do use individual chats with ChatGPT as part of training data.

      Anthropic and a maths professor allege that they got close to solving the problem, used ChatGPT to accelerate their progress, and now accuse OpenAI/ChatGPT of using their work as part of the data that allowed the latter to solve it fully.

      1. I’ll allow myself to be optimistic.
        MRA’s have somewhat succeeded in challenging the popular default assumption that fathers are sexual abusers.
        Rightly or wrongly, this was done at the expense of stoking the flames of paedohysteria.
        What now, though?
        Has the goal now been reached to a sufficient extent that mainstream MRA’s might start speaking against paedohysteria and age gaps in a more forceful and general way?
        Time will tell, but a couple of factors might come into play. Firstly, the devaluation of “paedophilia” is becoming more and more obvious (“She was 22, you sick fuck” etc). That should mean, I guess, that it will become safer to challenge this devaluation as time goes by.
        On top of this, feminists aren’t the only ones to be caught up in “mission creep” and the need to justify their existence. If one problem has already been partially solved, ie the assumption that Dads sexually abuse their kids, there’s room for other issues to be discussed. Content creators of all kinds have to make their content out of something, after all.
        BTW, I realize “mission creep” as applied to the STU is a bit of a misnomer, since the “mission creep” is itself the mission to a large extent.

      When I was abroad, I also encountered and interacted with British women. And there were a “special” type of British women that just looked like Katie Price. Admittedly, not that bad fortunately, and I am exaggerating a bit, but some of them got close.

      It was like a very distinct look that no other nationality seemed to have adopted. To make it clear, it wasn’t the majority of British women, but the stereotype for some of them was there.

      Very heavy makeup, especially a very dark foundation, or dark fake tan with very thick dark eyebrows, and sometimes jet-black hair or the total opposite platinum blonde hair.

      Correct me if I am wrong, but I think you call them “chavettes” from the male “chav.”

Another aspect of the “left or right” debate as it regards to male sexualism, is that clearly the AI debate has become a left vs right issue, with the left wanting more regulation (even to the point of banning data centers and superintelligence itself), and the right largely arguing for full steam ahead to ASI.

    Now, in my opinion, superintelligence is our only realistic hope, at least in our lifetimes. Does anybody really think if a super rational AI a million times more intelligent than the smartest human were in control of society, it would believe in the Epstein bullshit, or classify men attracted to 17 year olds as perverts?

    However, it’s true – as I’ve noted before – that the pedorationalists seem to be against AI. This is probably because they are invariably leftists, and also because they don’t really think that a rational and fair AI overlord would let them bang toddlers, and they are almost certainly right in this, despite being “pedorationalists”. (A super-intelligent and fair AI would, however, surely let them do whatever the fuck they like in full-dive VR, so they should support ASI for that reason, as it’s the best they’ll ever get).

      1. I think at the very least it’s going to cause a lot of social disruption, even if it doesn’t end up taking everybody’s jobs. If it somehow stopped at its current level, I can’t see how it wouldn’t at least be as big as the Internet. It took years for the Internet to start showing its potential, and it didn’t get much “better” in the way that AI surely will – just more people using it and gradually faster download times etc. (I guess the advent of smartphones was a big factor).

        I do believe there is a significant risk of doom and AI killing us all, but like you, I’m getting on in years, have a few health issues, and plus I don’t have any children to worry about. If the odds really are 10% chance of us all getting killed by 2035 and 90% chance of super-intelligence working for the good of mankind, then I love those odds personally. There’s probably a 25% chance I’ll be dead by 2035 anyway. Might be selfish on my part, but why should I or any of us here particularly care about the normies?

        Not to mention the geopolitical situation. I can’t see a nuclear war being avoided in the next 20 or 30 years unless AI does take over.

      The quote was from a veteran who claims that politicians and public servants are treating he and his comrades worse than paedophiles. However, what’s the first thing your average paedocrite will see? The headline might simply have been an example of this unconscious process I posit, or it could have been deliberately worded as clickbait for the average paedocrite.

    I was terrified, but I am also very proud of the film. I knew it would divide people, and some would reject it because of the subject alone. For me, however, it was important to create a space in which the issue could be discussed.

    The expansion of the internet has also created new dilemmas. These are not always about the direct abuse of children, but about representations and fantasies that may not directly harm an actual child while still contributing to the sexualisation of children and childhood. The film also asks us to take notice of less obvious forms of harm. Stella absorbs society’s message that she must be small to receive validation or possess value, and passes it on to the next generation. That, too, is a way of hurting children.“
