Online Porn Showing Choking to be Illegal in the UK
Online pornography showing strangulation or suffocation is to be made illegal, as part of government plans to tackle violence against women and girls.
It follows a review which found depictions of choking were “rife” on mainstream porn sites and had helped normalise the act among young people.
Both the possession and publication of such material will be a criminal offence, under amendments to the Crime and Policing Bill currently going through Parliament.
Online platforms would also be required to proactively detect and remove such material or face enforcement action via media regulator Ofcom.
The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) said the change would make choking in pornography a “priority offence” under the Online Safety Act, putting it on the same level as child sexual abuse material and terrorism content.

Several things to note about this. Firstly, ‘possession’ of illegal porn in the UK doesn’t simply mean having it on a USB stick stashed away in your sock cupboard. So long as forensics can find delted traces of it on your harddrive, then you ‘possess’ it, under UK law. Secondly, the decision to make choking porn illegal comes after a review that found that it was everywhere on mainstream porn sites. If we lived in a reasonable world, in which men are not treated like dogs that can be sent to prison at a stroke, that would be a reason NOT to make ‘possession’ illegal. There seems to be no limit to the number of men that the UK will happily criminalize. It certainly doesn’t appear to something they even take into consideration. And if it is, it’s a case of – ‘the more men who are doing it, the more it should be illegal’!
Another thing to note is that women are far more into choking (or being choked) than men are into choking women. A recent ‘kink’ poll of 10,000 UK adults found that around a third of women found choking to be extremely erotic, whilst only half that figure of men did so.

It might be him as he pretty much gave your suggested rationale as his reasoning. I’ll add it to my ‘activism’ list of links on the sidebar.
They are correct enough when they say that protecting children from genuine abuse is not necessarily at odds with freedom. If and when these two things ARE at odds, I would make a decision based my assessment of how much one factor outweighs the other, but in any case, even talking about freedom in this day and age is a good sign.
IMHO, the last 12 months or so have seen the very beginning of a pushback against age cuckery and paedohysteria. If this were not the case, they wouldn’t even mention the freedom side. If they were just another feminist organization, they wouldn’t need to say it because they could be unapologetically about ball breaking and no-one would object. If they are genuine, they wouldn’t dare mention it, or do so in more guarder terms than they have.
It was also a relief that they received neutral rather than hostile coverage from The Guardian, perhaps because The Grauniad can’t be seen to be complete hypocrites about freedom all the time.
All in all, the establishment of this group appears to be pretty good news, especially if Ian B. is involved.

I doubt it, unfortunately. As we saw with the Ian Watkins murder, even sex offenders develop ‘hierarchies’, with the violent rapists bullying the men who looked at ‘child porn’ or had a consensual relationship with a 15 year old.
And even in HMS Wakefield where Watkins was jailed, despite sex offenders being a large majority of the inmates, the other criminals would still attack them.
The only hope is if ‘sex offenders’ develop some kind of common cause or ‘consciousness’. The best way to achieve that is by pushing the STU idea as far and wide as possible. At the very least, that they are the victims of feminism. I say that recognizing of course that many ‘sex offenders’ are real abusers and awful people (such as the rapist who killed Ian Watkins), and I’m not talking about them.

I was reading a book on economics the other day. It explained why participation in trade unions has fallen (percentage wise at least) over the decades, and one of the reasons was that female workers are harder to unionize. Today I was eating out and about to order when I saw a familiar face sitting on her own at a table nearby. It was a Russian woman who I had been texting with around 10 years ago when she was 17/18. If you are in your twenties Steve, I don’t know if you are in the dating market, but I honestly wouldn’t allow age gap hysteria to make you feel that your’e going to get beaten up and such for talking to an 18 or a 19 year old. I was reading Plato’s “The Symposium” again last night. Just like many modern Muslim countries, in Ancient Greece having casual sex with young girls (that is, the daughters of citizens and especially upper class citizens – not slaves) was deeply frowned upon, whilst pursuing young boys was acceptable, and in Ancient Greece expected as the norm.

Boys, who can’t get pregnant, were a substitute and a redirection for the normal male sexual desire for nubile, pubescent girls.
Yet today, the “paternal line” isn’t so important (in the West) and more importantly, we have contraception etc. and even DNA testing, and American teen girls are sleeping around with their peers from the age of 13 anyway. Yet feminists have brought back the taboo on sex between older men and young girls but with a completely different rationalization. Just like only 100 years ago they were against prostitution because it was sinful and that women who sold their bodies were “fallen women”, now they are against prostitution because sex workers are “exploited” or “trafficked”.
How implausible is it that something that was seen as taboo 2,500 years ago for reasons that are not relevant in the modern world, turns out to be taboo for completely different “rational” reasons today?
