A shocking survey conducted in a Mexican town has revealed that 40% of schoolgirls there dream of having a romance with a drug trafficker. Michoacan State has been rocked by cartel violence for years, with dismembered corpses being found regularly in the street, or even mutiliated bodies hung from bridges and underpasses. Forty percent of female high school students in the western Mexican state of Michoacán dream of dating drug traffickers, said María Luisa Calderón, a politician from that district and sister of Mexican President Felipe Calderón, according to the newspaper Milenio.
“A shocking statistic reveals that 40 percent of girls in Michoacán’s high schools dream of dating a drug trafficker,” said Luisa María Calderón at a public event in that state, citing surveys from private companies, the newspaper added.
The president’s sister, a candidate for the National Action Party’s nomination for governor of Michoacán, proposed as a solution the establishment of high-quality schools in the municipalities of Tancítaro, Apatzingán, Buenavista, and Arteaga, the most insecure areas of the state.
Michoacán, 300 km from the Mexican capital and with 4.3 million inhabitants, is one of the most violent states in the country due to drug wars.
The increase in violence due to the split of the La Familia drug cartel caused some 2,000 people from towns in the municipality of Buenavista to abandon their homes earlier this week for fear of being caught in the crossfire and take refuge for about five days in schools and churches in the town center.

I hope this turns out to be a junk science study or that is some pretty depressing news…and some of the “expatting” advocates who may salivate over Mexico might want to rethink thier position.

A cute french woman – Florence Cassez – is rotting in a mexican prison right now because she was accused of helping her gangster boyfriend to abduct a woman and her son against ransom.
She claims she knew nothing about the activities of the man she dated during at least six months. She was sentenced to 60 years in jail. The diplomatic relationship between the two countries have been very tense because of this story.

The feminist response would be to claim that the situation of these girls exists within the context of patriarchal society, i.e. these girls are hapless victims of their own biological longing for alpha males ONLY because they are trapped both in biology, and that society.
That said, isn’t it interesting how the feminist state always uses the trope of the hapless girl as victim of the alpha male, and then demonizes those non-police males in open society; only to replace them with police?
