I remember when Gary Glitter first got into trouble in the late 90s or whenever. He had been caught with illegal pics on his PC and was facing trial for it, but he was still able to continue his concert tour of UK universities right up until his conviction (he was actually coming back into popularity just before it all went wrong for him). Now just an accusation and you’re finished without even a court case.
