Here is the final nail in the coffiin of men's movement.

<a href="http://human-stupidity.com/stupid-dogma/mens-rights-feminism/lorena-bobbit-forgives-her-husband" rel="nofollow">Lorena Bobbit forgives her husband (she cut off his manhood 16 years ago)</a>

The women that mutilated her husband, cut off her husband’s dick and threw it out of the car window, forgave her husband, after he expressed remorse and asked for forgiveness . And poor Lorena stressed how much her husband had hurt her. No remorse. Yes. You are reading right! Must see the video.

The back story: In June of 1993 after having a fight, Lorena cut off her husband’s manhood with a knife while he was asleep, then fled and threw it out of her car window. Later, Lorena’s trial was carried live, and after the stunning testimony, she was ultimately found not guilty by reason of temporary insanity.

Regarding Raoul Moat, I have not looked into this in much depth for various reasons but on the face of it, as Angry Harry has said, if men continue to be oppressed as they are, with the screw tightening over time, there is more and more risk of a backlash. Persecuting men can only lead to a more unstable and dangerous society, with too many men feeling disenfranchised and stripped of any investment in the society in which they live.

Regarding the Web Search Interest chart, the apparent decline may be about interest in men's rights being increasingly focused on particular issues rather than it's generalities. A chart on false rape allegations, paternity fraud or reproductive rights might show an opposing trend. I've noted from visits to my blog that the search terms tend to be on quite specific topics within men's rights.

There is also the nature of men that tends to make us less vocal about these things. Apparent victimhood doesn't appeal to men even when it is justified. Also, men will often take an interest in men's rights for a time, an then fade away once the reason that prompted his interest (a divorce, a false allegation, a custody situation) loses it's sting. However, he is hopefully a changed man for the knowledge he has gained and that may be propagated to others in ways that are difficult to measure.

"The graph is still troublesome though, in that it surely indicates some kind of drop in the wider casual interest for men’s rights. The widely held assumption that the men’s rights movement is growing is questionable."

I agree with your interpretation of the data. It would appear that we are failing to reach a larger audience, or even maintain the one we had in previous years. This is surprising news to me, though; because, from the inside, it always seemed to me like we had more and more members and onlookers. I'll be reflecting on how we can rectify this.

"Is the Men’s Rights Movement really growing?
However stupid sections of the MRM are,"

I know that feeling. lol

When I look at a lot of the new members outside of those on YouTube, it always strikes me how incredibly slow they are. Many of them are too unfocused to be of any use to the movement. Some claim to be interested in men's rights, but only talk about dating advice. On YouTube and Reddit it seems to be a little bit better, though, seeing as they are more politics and issues oriented. But a lot of the MRM blogs are distressing.

If you lie to a woman and you have consensual sex with her, it is officially “rape”

“”It is terrible, but the law says very clearly that if someone has sexual intercourse using deception about his identity to conduct the act, it can be considered rape,” said Leah Samael, a lawyer specializing in civil rights and human rights cases.”

Similar laws exist in California and Massachusetts
