Eivind Berge Released

with 37 comments

Some great news from Norway – our good friend Eivind Berge has been released from prison.

It appears that the Norwegian Supreme Court has ruled that the foolish threats that Eivind had published on his blog were not made in a ‘public place’. Eivind was apparently released yesterday (Thursday).

Although this site and its readers make perfectly clear that we disassociate ourselves completely from the threats of violence that Eivind made, it is wonderful news for the men’s rights community that he has been released.

For most bloggers, their published writings are akin to a private diary that has been shared amongst friends. Eivind’s blog was not linked to by many others in the men’s rights movement (not a reflection on the highly articulate and courageous writings of Eivind, but rather the conservative American family values demographic of the movement). Although I have never had any contact online or offline with Eivind, I see him as a friend and an anti-feminst hero for being one of the few men’s rights activists to stand up to the never ending torrent of sex laws that are being made by feminists, with barely any public discussion or debate and backed only by ‘scientific’ studies that have been repeatedly shown to be either wrong, or even downright fraudulent’. Oppressive sex laws which clearly serve both the sexual and financial interests of the feminists themselves and their female supporters, and which amount to the rape of male sexuality,  and which each probably violate several fundamental citizens rights according to the EU charter .

I denounce Eivind’s unfortunate overblown rhetoric on violence, which potentially could have caused so much damage to the only political movement on the horizon that has the potential to limit the crimes against humantiy being comitted by the feminist state.

Eivind Berge has been foolish, but he is no doubt a hero as well, and his courage and intelligence is much better served through being the peaceful men’s rights activist that he always has been, and always will be.

The anti-feminist blogger Eivind Berge was released Thursday afternoon, after Gulating Court of Appeal held that blog’s speech on the internet is not criminal.

- The threats were meant seriously, but I’ve thought through it, and I stand not for the extreme forms of action now, says 34-year-old to NRK after release.

Ends to incite violence

Berge says that his stay in prison has been stressful, but interesting, and that he has realized that he did not want to be criminal.

- Sitting in the prison itself has not had any effect on my opinions, but I will not back there, says Berge.

At the same time he says that at one time was willing to carry out threats against the police.

- But police brutality is not something I’m going to continue to encourage, says blogger.

Defender Henry Birkeland says 34-year-old wants to visit his girlfriend and work to bring out their assets seized by the police after release.

Statements are not criminal

Prosecutors believe Berges statements about the police killing of his own blog was far above the limit of freedom of expression and could be considered a solicitation to police killings.

But Gulating Court of Appeal gave Berge pursuant to Thursday, and expressions of opinion on a blog can not be considered public.

  1. This is great news. It looks like Norway is pushing back against political correctness.

Now I wonder what the effect of the ruling is going to have on guys like Futrelle and Cohen—who’ve been holding this case up as an example to shut down antifeminism as a ‘hate movement’?

  2. Great news. Also here is a news article of interest:

    http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/crime/article/1231844–strip-clubs-look-to-recruit-from-schools

The decision by the canadian federal government to discontinue the foreign stripper visa program has forced strip club owners to focus thier recruitment drives on students…with one feminist complaining about “vulnerable” young women being “exploited”.

  3. Yes that’s right Eric, but it’s also quite ironic, theantifeminist said:

Eivind’s blog was not linked to by many others in the men’s rights movement (not a reflection on the highly articulate and courageous writings of Eivind, but rather the conservative American family values demographic of the movement).

Now, thanks to those hate-mongering, stupid manginas: Eivind’s blog (and his antifeminist thoughts and rhetoric) is no longer ‘akin to a private diary that has been shared amongst friends’, but one of the most well known MRA sites and well known to MRA’s, misandrous femi-hags, femi-serves, rad-fems, and dispicable white-knights and manginas all around the world…
And I would say that many of the pro-fems are going to be very disappointed and maybe angry too, as they realize that if a real misandrist state such as Norway cannot criminalize and punish a MAN for merely dissenting or questioning the dominant narrative, they haven’t made as much ‘progress’ (at totally demonizing men) as they perhaps thought!

Best of all though is that Eivind’s arrest and subsequent widespread publicity would surely have ‘woken up’ a few men in that part of the world, especially Swedish men, who are about to be further oppressed with new laws that will effectively prevent them from ever being able to love a REAL woman (from outside their country): As we’ve discussed in another recent post, the bitterly jealous middle-aged femi-hags there are demanding an investigation into foreign wives, where ‘possible abuse’ is involved (that they will no doubt reveal, whether it exists or not), so that they can legally prohibit men from having any contact with women children under 55 in other countries, or something equally as ridiculous…
They already have laws that prohibit men from liaising with girls under the age-of-consent for Sweden, irrespective of what the legal AOC is in the foreign country they visit or even reside in.
I think like Norway, it is also illegal for any Swedish male citizen to pay a prostitute for sex in other countries.

I sincerely hope that Eivind will now be a bit more careful, as they will no doubt be watching every word as he posts to his blog.
His commentry is a real boon for the MRM, but his death threats and other violent musings are not needed or welcome.

We must all work at conveying to the world that we are NOT what the sexual trade union and rad-fem lesbians have been telling the world we are, on the contrary: we are an informed, intelligent and peace-loving community, whose only goal is a fair and balanced world, free from HATRED.
We are NOT violent, in fact we abhor any kind of violence (even against animals) and most importantly of all: we do NOT hate women or anyone based on their gender or sexuality or anything else.

    Sorry for the rant….

  5. I’ve been lurking on Manboobz, since this story broke; so far no retractions or commentary from the Fat Man yet. I guess we shouldn’t be holding our breath. LOL

But still this court decision is a major setback to the enemies of the MRM. It’s going to be difficult even for quasi-legal groups like the SPLC to get around it. They’re always bloviating about the right of free expression and holding up the Scandanavian countries as models of political correctness and tolerance, so this precedent can be easily turned against them.

I’m surprised that the news of Berge’s release hasn’t been discussed more in the MRM.

  6. AVfM ran a leader entitled “on violence” on July 15th. I assume it was written with Berge’s arrest in mind. Did you know the harpies in the University of Bergen had launched a petition to “Protect female students from rape advocate Eivind Berge”?

    http://www.thepetitionsite.com/3/help-stop-a-rape/

The petition is “now closed”. I don’t remember if it was already closed when I spotted it. Maybe it was as soon as the news of Eivind’s release came out, its purpose being to hit a man while he’s down. A few days ago it purported to have gathered 92 signatures. Be that as it may, our controversial friend should emerge strengthened from this ordeal. I’m sure I’m not the only one who can’t wait to read his next rant.

    27 Jul 12 at 7:18 am

  7. Elaborating on my own post, it seems that petition was launched long before Eivind’s arrest. It only got 92 signatures out of the 1000 aimed for. Good!

  8. Jack:
The more that comes out about Eivand Berge, the more we see this pattern emerging that looks highly suspicious of an orchestrated effort. I think he was set up by certain interests, they were hoping to inflame it into portraying the MRM and antifeminists into a ‘hate movement’. But the Norwegian court decision totally backfired their plans.

    Eric

    27 Jul 12 at 9:10 am

  9. They only aimed for 1000?
That seems rather disproportionate to me:
Considering the scale of almost total acceptance of paedohysteria, and anti-male sentiment, especially in Norwegian society of late, (at least according to their gynocracy’s crooked reasearch and statistics): surely 1,000,000 signatures should have been a more realistic expectation?
From that result, it would be fair conjecture that the only group that hates outspoken MRA’s (let alone mere ‘males’), are a few radical feminazi lesbians, some femi-hags and a handful of jealous manginas…

Ironically, they love to repeatedly and very publicly point out that the MRM and MRA’s are nothing more than a bunch of pathetic, frustrated and lonely middle-aged LOSERS that can’t laid…

Well, judging from the result of the petition, it seems we might at least have a few more supporters than those jealous and hateful, self-interested bigots.

  10. @ Eric & Alan
Some signs are encouraging. Look at the comments to this CNN article about men sacrificing themselves to save women in the Colorado shooting:

    http://edition.cnn.com/2012/07/25/opinion/bennett-aurora-three/index.html?hpt=hp_c2

It seems MRA scepticism – if not activism – is becoming the norm. Or is it only because the MRA web grapevine is so efficient?

    you said:

I’m sure I’m not the only one who can’t wait to read his next rant.

He’s already started, here’s the part I really liked at the very end of his relatively short rant (because as I suggested when the news of his arrest first broke, he would use this as an kind of soap-box to convey his thoughts and the disgusting truth of feminist tyranny to the world):

And if it doesn’t end in the Supreme Court next week, I have a hell of a trial to look forward to, which I will take full advantage of as a pulpit for men’s rights activism.

    GO EIVIND – You’re a real hero!

Yep, the article clearly talks of recruitment of 19 year olds, but they may need to recruit 18 year olds and if so they would have to implement an acceptable plan that would guarantee the 18 year olds cannot drink. (The minimum age for drinking there is 19)?
Yet as always: some femi-serve old bag or possibly a mangina married to a femi-serve, thought they’d throw in the usual overdose of paedohysteria:

Conservatives are trying to stop stripping and liberals support our children being recruited into taking their cloths off in public.Seeing as you supported McGuiny, does it ever cross your mind that the company I keep might just be the RIGHT one.Embarrassed eh

However, a reader with a working brain soon retorted thus:

“Quite often . . . white-collar workers go into a strip club” — but they aren’t “usual customers.” So which is it??? Have Conservatives “tried to stop stripping” by attempting to close down clubs — or is kicking out migrant workers an all-purpose solution? And please cite a single Liberal (large or small L) supporting recruitment of “children” by strip clubs — the accusation is simply idiotic.

    Indeed idiotic.
The self interested and jealous femi-hags, never stop and think for 1 minute that these girls they’ve decided to identify as ‘children’ (maybe) because they refer to a higher education institution as ‘school’, do this work and WANT to do it because they want to complete a degree and actually enjoy the work as well.
It would sure beat some much lower paid night-shift work in some factory or stacking shelves in a supermarket!

  14. http://eivindberge.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/out-of-prison.html

I wonder if the real reason for the Supreme Court’s decision is that they have come to the conclusion that a trial would only serve to give an embarrassing platform to such a highly articulate anti-feminist, with little hope of him being convicted at the end of it.

Also, I’m really surprised Eivind’s case hasn’t even been mentioned at all in the MSM outside of Scandinavia. You would think that this ruling that a blog is a ‘private sphere’ would at least have provoked some interest.

  16. Antifeminist:

I thought of that too—aside from its relevance to the MRM, since the Internet is global now, Norway’s decision could have a far-reaching impact on international treaties regarding information posted on the web.

Here in America, so-called ‘civil liberties’ groups, which were advertising Berge as a poster-boy to denounce the MRM as a ‘hate group’ are conspicuously silent about the ruling—strange when one considers that commitment to freedom of speech is something they all brag about just as loudly.

This is more great news; now that the Norwegian Supreme Court has upheld the decision, there is a good precedent for international law established as well.

So far, though, I’ve still seen very little commentary in mainstream MRM blogs about. There might be some coming up yet as more information comes out; but still, the silence is somewhat concerning. Hopefully, the MRM mainstream isn’t considering Eivand Berge as ‘too controversial.’

    Eric

    2 Aug 12 at 11:20 pm

  19. Eric,

but still, the silence is somewhat concerning. Hopefully, the MRM mainstream isn’t considering Eivand Berge as ‘too controversial.’

Ironically Fattroll has had a bit to say about it, although he’s somewhat guarded, as he admits that reading a foreign language article with Google translator is likely to result in misunderstandings.

However, the so-called ‘mainstream MRM’ blogs are largely divorced men’s and father’s affected by the feminist dominated family courts, thus their forums tend to be rather tunnel-visioned, focusing mainly on those issues only. (Rather self-interested too).

They therefore seem to possess a mindset of father’s rights and all the Draconian laws governing divorce and family disintergration to be the centre of their universe and not only disregard the more important men’s sexuality targeting by the gynocracy, but also support those ideologies, as they have fallen victim to the feminist mantra and dominant narrative of inflated age of consent and paedophilia mantra (the base of current paedohysteria).

Thus you’re understating their perception of Eivind somewhat, by suggesting they may consider him as ‘too controversial’. They would, in fact they do: tend to scape-goat him and regard him as a dissenter of those ‘paedophile’ laws, that were passed in the interests of ‘protecting children’, believing like the rest of our indoctrinated society, that men who have consensual sex with 17 year old children are predators, perverts or paedophiles.

Therefore from their collective indoctrinated perspective and opinion: any dissenter of these (they believe very good) laws that ‘protect children’ (even in the near future: 25 y/o ‘children’), MUST sympathize with perverts / paedos etc. and therefore MUST be a paedophile himself!

In reality however, such scape-goating and persecutory behaviour is also the text-book behaviour of typical paedocrites. (However, we won’t delve into that phenomenon in this reply).

This all serves as an indicator of the extent and persuasive power of the current feminist ideologies and how well established paedohysteria is in our society today.

They can (conservative father’s rights advocates identifying themselves as ‘MRA’s') shun Eivind and scape-goat him all they like, but they are totally wrong. They are not MRA’s at all in my book – they are mangina’s Rights Avtivists: They are in effect, condoning and supporting the feminist tyranny and assisting them to reach their goal of a feminist totalitarian state, every time they express their acceptance of the numerous Draconian laws that demonize and criminalize NORMAL male sexuality.

A man (or boy) having a consensual sexual relationship with a 15 or 16 year old young adult woman is NOT paedophilia nor is it even perverted, however I have seen many commentators on the more famous ‘mRA’ blogs state very dogmatically, that such a relationship not only proves the man is a paedophile, but is also rape of a child, because a (16 or 17 y/o) ‘child’ is not capable of giving her consent.

Eivind Berge relentlessly attacks these Draconian laws, thus to mainstream ‘mRM’ he is a sick paedophile.

How dumbed-down do those manginas have to be before they actually become David Fattroll supporters as well? :)

  20. To be fair, many of those MRAs are just careful to stay within the confines of the laws that prevail in their nook of the woods. I remember pleading in favour of prostitution on Barbarossaa’s Youtube channel. He replied to my comment by stating I shouldn’t get the impression he was in favour of the ban on prostitution, because he wasn’t. It then dawned on me that since he was the US, his advocating prostitution – as opposed to advocating its legalisation – would’ve been illegal.

That was an excellent post that really put mainstream MRM into perspective.

As for the loveable Davy Futrelle: he’s being very circumspect with the commentary, which seems to have his groupies all confused without firm, male leadership to guide them LOL.

When Eivand was arrested, I led poor Manboob into a nasty verbal sucker-punch over on the Spearhead; and I think he’s learned to keep his head low after getting scalped like that LOL.

Amazing, considering the topic, they have only 14 comments there compared to 32 here…oh, well.

Anyway, I thought ‘Freebird’ made another good point: Futrelle never commented there where the ‘downvote’ system was still in place.

I think that Antifeminist’s policy of banning Futrelle is a good one; it shows that just because a paedophile and child-rape apologist is a celebrity, it doesn’t give him any special priviledges.

  33. The sexual trade union strikes back : http://www.dagbladet.no/2012/08/04/kultur/debatt/ekstremisme/antifeminisme/berge/22818011/ (you’ll have to put it through Google translate).

Femi-rapist quotes me quite extensively. Even though I clearly denounced the use of violence, she insists that I implied support for it because I claimed that feminists are committing crimes against humanity (and ‘armed resistance’ is a logical conclusion in her eyes).

In other words, she is advocating violence, not me!

She also selectively (mis)quotes in a way the child rape apologist David Futrelle would blush at – picturing me as believing that violence is only wrong because it ‘would hurt the men’s rights movement’, when in fact I categorically denounced the use of violence while we still have free speech, and rather stated that Eivind’s rhetorical threats were a mistake that could hurt the MRM.

If Google Translate is accurate, she also claims we want to ‘de-criminalize’ rape and conflates us with the anti-jihad movement.

This appeared in the ‘debate’ section. Ironic as feminists obviously don’t want any debate at all (wonder why?), they just want to lie about us sufficiently to force governments to create new ‘hate speech’ laws to silence any criticism.

    theantifeminist

  34. I checked over at the SPLC blog, there’s an article by somebody named ‘Arthur Goldwag’ who writes for some blog called ‘Anti-Woman’. This was about the Colorado shooting.

Futrelle was mentioned in the article as ‘a watchdog’. Also, some of his groupies turned up in the comment section. The article singled out Reddit and Price and a commenter called the Pigman—all three of whom were also mentioned by Futrelle after the shooting.

It would appear that whoever this Goldwag guy is, he’s a front for Futrelle. Given this cozy relationship that Futrelle seems to being having with the SPLC, it looks like they’re funnelling information through this middleman, probably to hide their ties to radical feminist organizations.

I’ll see what I can dig up on Goldwag and his blog and write back here later.

  35. Antifeminist:
Eivand Berge mentioned on his blog that the outraged feminists were trying to amend Norwegian law to keep guys like him from slipping through their fingers. I’m not sure how successful they’re going to be, given that public sympathy over there seems to be in Eivand’s favor.

As best as I could translate the article, it sounds like a hysterical feminist who’s worried about the ‘franchise’ getting away from the Trade Union. I think Scandanavia has a good chance of overthrowing feminism, long before the Anglosphere does. The homogenity of their culture and small populations work in their favor.

As Jacob Burckhardt pointed out about the dangers of the political and social becoming intertwined; the tendency of all such systems is to default to the use of force to impose social engineering schemes. Feminism probably could never have the hold it has on American society without the government, academia, media, and corporate interests actively imposing its will and marginalizing all dissent.

  36. Antifeminist:
Just as side note to this story, the BBC reported today that an official inquiry in Norway has determined that the police acted irresponsibly in their response to the Breivik shootings last year. The report cited that police waited up to 35 minutes before responding to the scene.

Couple this with the obvious attempt to frame Eivand Berge and it’s really looking like the Norwegian police are due for a serious overhaul. At the very least it looks like they went after Eivand Berge to divert attention away from the upcoming report about their misconduct in the Breivik Case.

    Eric

    14 Aug 12 at 8:38 am

  37. Here’s another interesting story about a false accusation in Scandanavia. The BBC reported today that Julian Assange, who has sought political asylum in the Ecuadoran Embassy, would be taken out by force if the Ecuadorans don’t release him voluntarily.

I’m no expert on International Law, but isn’t that an ‘Act of War’?

This just shows the lengths the feminist establishment will go to—an action like this could have serious international ramifications for the British. But it reminds me of Hillary’s feminist crusades in the Middle East; the world has to ‘be made safe for feminism’ at any price. But it won’t be the feminists on the front lines.
